General Discussion / Re: Why Dont Perry People Spend Their Money In Perry?
« on: September 13, 2011, 11:25:41 AM »
Here is my opinion on the subject. I try to make most of my purchases locally. But lately a few things have gotten to bother me . First is the lack of customer service. I called an ad in the paper for a house to rent. Turns out it was a real estate co. here in town. I left my name and number, a week went by and no phone call from the co. So i call again, and again leave a message. It's been 3 weeks now and no response. Second, if you ever go to Orschelins, you need to know exactly what you want and where in the store it is. Otherwise nobody that works there has a clue where anything is at. Thirdly. the hardware store is a great place, way over priced, but still a good place to shop. I priced a socket i needed, was 9.49 $ i thought it was a lil high so i went to Motor Parts. Same socket $ 4.49.
So would you pay 5$ more just to have the name Ace on the socket? Both were lifetime warranty sockets. So not only is the place high priced, but you also have to deal with the dude that follows you around asking if you need help every 5 min. That annoys the crap out of me.

So in short i can see why most business's fail in this small town. Things are much cheaper in Des Moines. Even with the price of gas.
